A special thank you to San Jose's Blvd BombS for braving the rain this past Saturday and hosting a coat drive + handing out food for our guests at the BRC! We appreciate your help and partnership in ending homelessness together!
Special thanks to HomeFirst's Kenneth Rideout for assisting with the event and for being a great liaison!
Our fabulous Tuesday Annex volunteers are back today, ready to help sort through the 600 blankets lovingly collected by the Bellarmine College Preparatory "Coldbusters" to keep our guests warm this winter!
Thank you Linda, Liz Y., Carrie, Liz G., Mary, Charlene, Rene, Bulbul and Susan (both not pictured) for spending your Friday with us and ensuring that the blankets are sorted and ready for our shelters!
Anyone up for happy housing news this rainy afternoon?
Veteran Larry Clear, 70, entered the BRC shelter in late October and is now HOUSED only after 35 days, which is not only fast but so amazing!!!
"Larry is the most go-getter ever and utilized every resource and more offered to him," said Callie Gregg, HomeFirst VESP SC Outreach/Case Manager. "He really is the reason I am in this position because ANYONE can fall on hard times but with a little extra support from HomeFirst he is able to be back on his feet."
Larry worked directly with Callie, VESP Housing Specialist Jose Toledo and Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program.
Great job everyone, and congratulations Larry on your new home, going to school FT to become a substance abuse counselor and working at the VA in Palo Alto!!!
There is literally a huge mountain of jackets stretched across our backroom that is climbable! Thank you sooooo much to the Bellarmine College Preparatory "Coldbusters" for collecting 600 jackets of all sizes to keep our guests warm this winter season!

Your support means the world to us, and we, along with our guests, are forever grateful!
There's ONE more hour left until midnight, let's end this Giving Tuesday STRONG together!
If you haven't had a chance to make a donation yet here, you still have time! Every dollar goes towards ending homelessness in Silicon Valley!
Good night, and thank you in advance for your support!
A very special “Thank You” to Shah Restaurant in Sunnyvale, Karl John Kramer, Greg Barr, Penny & John Pollock, and those who donated on our Facebook page for your support this afternoon on Giving Tuesday!
There's still 6 hours left to make a donation of any amount to our organization here. The form takes a few seconds (okay, maybe a minute or two) to fill out, so why not do some good while making dinner and help us end homelessness in Silicon Valley at the same time?!
Before you go home and have a nice dinner or workout, don't forget that you have 6 hours left to partner with us on Giving Tuesday to end homelessness and make a donation of any amount to our organization here. We thank you in advance for your support today!
Is it lunchtime already? This means you have 12 hours left to partner with us on Giving Tuesday to end homelessness and make a donation of any amount to our organization here.
Thank you to Karen Betancourt and those who donated through our FB page, we appreciate your support today!
While many were excited about Thanksgiving or Black Friday, we are most excited about Giving Tuesday, which is tomorrow, Nov. 27.
Giving Tuesday, which started back in 2012, is an incredibly important event for nonprofits like ours as generous (and first-time) donors plan and focus on their year-end giving. This important day has always been on the following Tuesday after Thanksgiving, hence its special moniker.
Our primary focus still remains on our homeless guests. Please consider partnering with us to end homelessness on Giving Tuesday, and make a donation of any amount to our organization here. We thank you in advance for your support!
Thanksgiving is two days away, and we all have so much to be thankful for here at HomeFirst. We are especially thankful for the Blvd BombS for organizing and hosting a successful turkey drive at the BRC over the past weekend! 🙏
Chef Paul is preparing a wonderful Thanksgiving meal for our guests with the donated turkeys, and we'll have many volunteers spending the day with us, too!
Thank you so much to NetApp for volunteering with us at the BRC! We truly appreciate the time your employees took to help serve, and look forward to having all of you back again!
Special thanks to NetApp’s Margaret Mannion and Nicholas Dinh (also a HomeFirst board member) for coordinating this wonderful volunteer opportunity!
Gilroy residents, we're ready and open to help you during this cold weather season at the Armory until April 15, 2019!!!

Thank you City of Gilroy- Public Information Office for sharing the volunteer opportunities available at our Gilroy shelter with your community today!
Gilroy residents, we are also in need of blankets as we prepare for the shelter's opening on Oct. 15 at the Armory. Please help us spread the word to your neighbors and friends, thank you!!!
Pet lovers and friends, please support HomeFirst and Vets for Healthy Pets by donating supplies and money to support our homeless pet owners!
