#HIWTAI
Annually, HomeFirst hosts Home Is Where the Art Is (HIWTAI), a therapeutic art-making workshop series facilitated by local artists. The program gives residents at our participating shelters or interim housing sites the opportunity to learn new artistic skills, build connections and community, and pursue creative outlets, while they work towards their permanent housing goals.
Since art-making can improve individuals' physical, cognitive, emotional, and psychological health and/or well-being, Home Is Where the Art Is has become a staple program that propels HomeFirst's mission to help our residents find a home, improve their lives, and stay housed.
Each year, the workshop series culminates in a final showcase where the community can view the art that was created, and support HomeFirst in ending homelessness. At the upcoming exhibition in Rohnert Park, attendees can:
-
View and purchase the original art pieces on showcase (100% of sales go to the artist!)
-
Enjoy complimentary admission, wine, and appetizers
-
Meet local artist and workshop instructor, Kirsten Bjøre
We hope to see you there!
